About Varnish Software

Varnish Software is a Scandinavian-based tech company developing powerful caching technology for some of the world's biggest players in the content delivery market. Our products combine open-source flexibility with enterprise robustness to speed up media streaming services, accelerate websites and APIs, and enable global businesses to build custom CDNs.

The R&D department is based in Oslo and Karlstad, where we develop and maintain the Varnish Enterprise, Varnish Controller, and Varnish Traffic Router. Besides creating software which enables faster, more efficient content delivery to some huge names such as Tesla and Hulu, we’re also contributing with research and collaborations with other companies and universities. One example is the collaboration we did with Intel

Our developers have the freedom to choose a certain technical area of interest, to that extent that they’ll become experts in the subject. All voices are heard, solely based on expertise, not seniority. Furthermore, we don’t rush products or releases because we are in this for the long haul. Therefore, we develop products that will be useful to the world for a long time, prioritizing quality over quantity. We’re also a group of friendly, collaborative, and humble colleagues with a shared passion for technology and having fun together, while helping each other grow as professionals and human beings.
