What is Dagens doing?

67% of all farmers in Europe are small-scale, yet there is no channel for those to easily sell their produce to professional customers. Dagens is building a marketplace to help farmers and food producers all over Europe take a step up in the food value chain. After 2 years we now have 150 restaurants, canteens and hotels sourcing local, short travelled food in Oslo, from about 50 producers and farmers.  With our next round of funding we are taking things up one notch - and building an A-team to build a new local food system! To do this, we are looking for a UX / UI food-rebel to help improve the product of Dagens.

Your role

Run the overall product strategy - together with CPO and CTO Be responsible for constantly developing and keeping UI-guide / design system up to date, and on brand

Be responsible for visuals across physical and digital touchpoints - designing single screens and interaction flows

Your profile

Furthermore, we want candidates to: Be curious, relentlessly curious. We are looking to redefine our current food system: that means we need to ask a lot of questions, turn every stone and constantly look into why and how things are done today - and how we can improve it. Be passionate and dedicated. We want to bring farmers and food producers higher up in the value chain - that requires a serious bit of dedication to drive the change. Have a "Get Shit Done - Work Shit Out" mentality. We are looking for people who takes charge of their role, and takes decisions based on data, facts, experience and gut-feeling. We would rather have you take 10 decisions fast where 9 are correct and 1 is wrong - than 10 correct decisions where all have been slowly analysed and ensured nothing is done wrong. Always look for the next improvement. We believe continuous improvement on all parts of Dagens is key for success. We want people who can find quick fixes for issues they face, as well as identify the root-cause and deal with the real issue.

Grit. Today's food system consists of old and conservative players with strong beliefs and culture - to find a way in and change it - we need to always look for a way forward and push through, no matter how hard it is.

Be a foodie. There is no doubt that it is an extra bonus if you are slightly interested in food. Not a requirement - however, do not be surprised if you find the team discussing what to have for lunch tomorrow, while eating lunch today.
